(St Louis) Immediacy Theatre Project (ITP) continues its 2009 season at The Luminary in St. Louis with 'Drawn & Quartered' July 17 and 18, August 14 and 15, and September 18 and 19.

'Drawn & Quartered,' a main-stay of ITP’s body of work, features thirty-five two-minute plays performed in an order chosen by the audience. The plays, written and performed by ITP ensemble members, abandon the convention of character and directly acknowledge the audience, doing away with suspension of disbelief and prolonged fantasy.

ITP has been performing 'Drawn & Quartered' since 2005, and this year’s series will be directed by Managing Director Kyle Kratky and Artistic Director Matt Heckman. "These shows are going to be lightning fast, provocative as always, and have just enough new stuff to keep the audience on their toes," says Heckman. "I have no idea what is going to happen and I love it."

ITP’s efforts are joined by The Luminary, who has partnered with ITP on this and other shows this season. James McAnally, the director of The Luminary, expresses excitement about this new venture. "Grown out of a shared desire to create meaningful dialogue between the arts and the audience, the partnership between The Luminary and ITP promises to create a groundbreaking new space for engagement with theater in St. Louis."

The 2009 series will also have a slightly different flavor. ITP will also be creating a series of videos for their YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/itptv), which will bring more outside elements to the theater. Says Heckman, "Our scientists are hard at work conducting mad experiments with itpTV. They'll be giving life to 'Drawn & Quartered' in a whole new way." He even promises a special surprise in October. "No peeking!"

'Drawn & Quartered' will run six shows at The Luminary (4900 Reber Place, St Louis, MO 63139) July 17 and 18, August 14 and 15, and September 18 and 19. All performances will start at 8 pm.
